Working principle of hydraulic system

The characteristics of hydraulic transmission system are high pressure and high power, which are suitable for high speed and heavy load occasions. In some precision machinery and instruments, hydraulic transmission plays a vital role. The hydraulic transmission system consists of three parts: liquid, hydraulic pump, and actuator. The hydraulic circuit is mainly composed of oil tank, overflow valve, one-way throttle valve, safety valve, etc.

1. Principle of hydraulic system

(1) Liquid flow mode: The liquid enters the cylinder from the oil in the oil tank through the one-way valve, and returns to the oil tank through the one-way valve. The oil returns to the oil tank through the overflow valve, and the system pressure drops through the safety valve, and then the system pressure is reduced to the working pressure through the throttle valve. The hydraulic pump sends the throttled high-pressure oil into the working chamber of the actuator, and the actuator moves under the action of the pressure difference. The actuator drives the motor to rotate and drives the machine to do work.

(2) Liquid flow state: The system is filled with high-pressure oil. When a certain amount of hydraulic oil is input into the actuator, the oil begins to flow. When the cylinder piston moves downward, the oil flows into the oil tank under the action of gravity; when the piston moves upward, the oil is sucked out of the oil tank. During the up and down movement of the piston, the hydraulic oil is continuously heated and cooled to a certain temperature; when the temperature drops to a certain temperature, the hydraulic oil is pumped back to the oil tank; when the temperature rises to a certain temperature, the hydraulic oil is pumped to another working chamber. In this repetitive cycle, the oil is heated, cooled and recycled repeatedly. Since this cycle relies on hydraulic oil to transfer energy, it is called hydraulic transmission.
